Short Stories

Bill opened his eyes. He was sitting on the floor, dazed. As his vision began to clear, he saw the inside of the room he was in. The surroundings included an industrial oven, refrigerators, shelves of dry ingredients, and the radiator he was chained to. "What could I have possibly done to be held captive in a bakery?" he thought. And then he remembered why...
Bill is an office assistant. His job entails making copies, going on coffee runs, and of course, supplying the donuts for the office. Last week he forgot it was Donut Wednesday. Big mistake. His boss told him if he wasn't back to the office with donuts in 1 hour, he was as good as fired. The only problem, however, was most other offices in the area also held Donut Wednesday. This means most bakeries were going to be out of donuts...
Bill knew that those self-righteous jerks over at the law offices of Johnson, Jenson, & Johanneson always had their donuts delivered to them. At precisely 10am every Wednesday the van from from Wright Bakery delivered enough donuts for an office 6 times the size that Bill was working in. They wouldn't miss a couple dozen....
[46 minutes later] He had the donuts, but needed to get out. Bill had climbed in the back of the donut delivery truck while it was stopped, but as he was looking for a box to steal, the back door was pulled down on him. Now he was in a moving delivery truck, will no way out. "Pssst!" he heard from the shadows. "I couldn't get out either." Bill wasn't alone...
"Donut Wednesday?" the voice from the shadows asked. "Donut Wednesday" replied bill. After a bumpy 20 minutes The truck arrived at the bakery and backed up to the donut off-loading dock. The door opened and there was no place for either of the donut "borrowers" to hide. The truck driver didn't seemed as surprised as to find these 2 men in the truck as Bill had expected. The truck driver yelled behind him to what must have been his superior, "want me to chain 'em to the radiator with the rest"?
